Rūjiena Secondary School is one of the educational institutions of Rūjiena district in North of Latvia. Rūjiena Secondary School was founded in 1919. Nowadays educational process takes place in two school buildings.
The secondary school is an institution of Rūjiena municipality, which employs a principal, 3 vice principals, 56 teachers, a group of support staff, a librarian and technical staff. In 2020 there are 422 students from grade 1st to grade 12th. Our school has various educational programs, including professionally oriented musical program, where students play an instrument, join choir, orchestra and musical groups. The aim of Rūjiena Secondary School is to create an educational environment, organize and implement an educational process that ensures the achievement of the educational goals set in the state educational standard and which is based on the principles of democracy and humanism. The school staff is actively involved in international projects - the international strategic school cooperation project “Let’s tune in to Europe” (music, 2016-2018) of the European Commission's Erasmus + KA2 Education Program; ERASMUS + project “Creative Mind - Key To Future Education” (2018/19); ERASMUS + project in the field of cultural history “Heritage in Europe -Appreciation, Respect, Tolerance” (2018/19); Cooperation with the Bavarian (Germany) Teachers' Association (BLLV) as a teacher internship place (2017/18); In cooperation with the youth organization "Ligzda" project "Smartphone education - the Pedagogical Model and the Testing Experiences" (2017/18), ERASMUS + project “BEAM” (2020/2021). |
