Activity objectives (2 or 3):
To learn how to identify my emotions
To learn how to differentiate the emotions that I feel in each moment
Materials needed for the activity:
Paper and pen
Smart board
Activity stages (please briefly explain the process, roles of participants, guidelines, teaching tips, etc., so that other teachers can successfully implement the activity): Warm-up session On the board we present some words related with emotions, provide the meaning if it is necessary. Happiness Impotence Trust Rage
Fear optimism Anger Amazement
Respect Joy Surprise Boredom
Hostility Sorrow Sadness terror
Jealousy Loneliness Grief Shame
hopelessness Self-confidence Ecstasy love
Individual work; Students will ask some questions individually;
How many of these emotions have you ever felt?
Classify them into positive and negative
Chose three emotions and ask; what were you doing when you felt it?
Emotion When did you feel it? What happened?
Group work; In group of 4 students They comment the next question; which are the most frequent emotions that you feel at your age? Then comment in group the emotions in the following situations;
Today I am having a math exam, I have studied very hard.
I am coming back home and two classmates are arguing
I am very good at music when I talk about it my friends ask me
My best friend is coming home to sleep over
To finish with it, the whole group will make a reflection about the exercise and they will complete the following sentence; TODAY I FEEL …………..
Evaluation criteria: The lesson is effective if during this activity:
-they understand that emotions are inevitable -if they know how to recognize their emotions and be able to manage them in certain situations Activity results: Students learn about some emotions that they may have felt but they did not know how to express themselves and differentiate them. They learn that emotions are something inevitable and match their emotions with day to day situations.
